Policy on Preventing Harassment in Recruitment Activities
Based on the Joshin Group Human Rights Policy, we aim to fulfill our responsibility to respect the human rights of all stakeholders.
In our recruitment activities as well, we prohibit all forms of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, social status and family origin, sex, disability status, health status, ideology and faith, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other such grounds, and we do not tolerate sexual harassment, power harassment, or any other form of harassment. We are committed to creating an environment in which students and job seekers can engage in their job search with peace of mind.
- During interviews and meetings, we will not ask highly personal questions unrelated to the hiring process (such as questions about the candidate’s sexual orientation, gender identity, beliefs, or creed).
- We will conduct interviews and meetings in appropriate settings, such as online, at our company facilities, in rented conference rooms, on school campuses, or at event venues.
- We will conduct interviews and meetings at appropriate times during business hours.
- We will communicate with job seekers using company-designated methods (company phones, company email, and the recruitment management system), and will not use an individual employee’s personal mobile phone, email address, or social media account to make contact.
- We will not engage in any conduct that interferes with the recruitment activities of other companies or that places improper pressure on job seekers not to withdraw from the recruitment process.
- We will observe the above measures in all situations in which job seekers and employees of the Group interact, regardless of the format.
To prevent harassment, we will provide Group employees involved in recruitment activities with the appropriate training and education.
If you experience harassment or any other inappropriate conduct during the Group’s recruitment activities, please promptly make use of the contact for reporting below.
The privacy of whistleblowers is strictly protected, and you will not be subject to any unfavorable treatment whatsoever in the recruitment process for making a report or cooperating in an investigation.
- JaCER is a third-party organization that provides a non-judicial platform for grievance redress in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The Joshin Group is also a member of JaCER.
- The contact for reporting provided by JaCER allow for anonymous reports. However, please be aware that it may not be possible to handle a report appropriately if it is difficult to ascertain the facts of the matter.
