Aiming for sustainable growth and increased corporate value by capturing changes in the market

Our industry’s environment is changing as uncertainties are rising around the world and Japan faces the issues of higher inflation, population decline, and labor shortages, as well as the digitalization of consumer behavior. For Joshin to grow sustainably, it’s important for us to be an organization that treats stores, e-commerce, delivery, and after-sales service as an integrated whole, translates customer needs into enhanced products and services and improved operations, leverages frontline knowledge in management decisions, and can execute management policies.

Through my involvement in the management of a retail company, I have placed importance on making investment decisions based on numerical data after understanding changes in lifestyles and purchasing behavior, and on allocating resources to support competitiveness over the medium to long term.

I will use my experience of confronting management issues from both financial and business development perspectives in diverse business domains in Japan and overseas to support Joshin in increasing customer value and profitability, while also balancing growth investment with financial discipline.

Additionally, I will incorporate into management the insights gained from market trends, the capital markets’ assessment of the Company, and dialogue with stakeholders to improve the quality of decision-making from the independent standpoint of an outside director, thereby contributing to the sustainable enhancement of Joshin’s corporate value.
