「ZEB」 Status Granted

ZEB Status Granted to Joshin’s Newly-opened Nara Store

Joshin Nara’s ZEB Program

  • HVAC: Saving energy with high-efficiency equipment
  • Lighting: Saving energy with controls by sensor-responsive controls
  • Exterior: Saving energy with high-performance thermal insulation and Low-E double-glazing glass windows
  • BEMS (Building Energy Management System): Data management of energy consumption in stores
  • Photovoltaic power generation equipment: Creating energy by generating electricity with monocrystalline solar cells

* ZEB

Buildings that utilize advanced architectural designs to reduce energy burdens, actively utilize natural energy, and introduce high-efficiency equipment to achieve large energy savings while maintaining the quality of the interior environment. Renewable energy is then added to increase energy independence as much as possible and reduce the annual primary energy consumption budget to zero.

Key equipment and systems installed under the ZEB program

HVAC

Saving energy with the rotation function

This function automatically controls the number of outdoor units in operation according to the changes in air conditioning load to ensure constant efficient operation. It allows greater energy-efficient operation.

Daikin Industries, Ltd., VRV X Series High COP Type

The outdoor units are installed in the dedicated space on the 1st floor.

Lighting

Saving energy with dimming

The dimmer lights avoid excessive illuminance for greater energy efficiency. They are more effective if used with an illuminance sensor or human sensor.

ENDO Lighting Corp., SmartLEDZ FitPlus

The dimmer lights are installed in the pilotis, sales areas, and office room.

BEMS (Building and Energy Management System)

Measuring and controlling energy use

Energy savings of the equipment are assessed with the use of data gathered from BEMS, and then tuned and analyzed for greater energy efficiency.

E-SEMS Corp., Energy Management System

The monitors are installed on the machine site on the 1st floor.

Elevator

Saving energy with regenerative power function

In the regenerative power mode, the elevator serves as a generator. Power thus generated is used within the building for energy saving.
