At the Product Safety Awards (PS Awards) organized by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Joshin was certified as the first Gold Product Safety Company* in 2014. In the follow-up reviews conducted every five years after certification, we achieved certification renewal in 2019 and then again in 2024. Joshin is the first to receive two consecutive renewals under this system.
As a means of passing on this high expertise to society, Joshin plays a central role as a core company in the Product Safety Community under the leadership of METI, the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE), and other agencies.
We are also focused on educational activities for consumers. We actively communicate information in collaboration with government agencies; for example, we cooperated in creating the Product Safety Inspection Video on the METI website.
In addition, based on a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the government of Osaka Prefecture, we conduct outreach classes at elementary schools via after-school children’s classes. We have developed a unique program on the subject of product safety to help increase awareness of safety across the entire region.
